Hi I’m Cyd. If I have to pick one thing to call myself I’ll say a user researcher, but I’ve worked as a QA person, a marketer, a service designer, a product person, a strategist, and recently a chief of staff. I never stop being a leader and a poet.
I help governments (and sometimes companies) to make technology work for their constituents and staff. I teach workshops on research methods at all levels, and speak about a variety of UX and civic topics.
I mentor UX practitioners, especially those making the jump from mid-level to senior, and I’m always happy to remind techies to listen to public servants and learn the history of the problems they want to work on.
I love connecting people. And sometimes when I’m stuck in an airport, I take haiku commissions.
